TESTIMONIALS

"Just wanted to say that our coach was very engaging, enthusiastic and he controlled my class wonderfully yesterday, the kids loved him and I was very impressed. He always kept them active and the pace high - what we want and the new NC expects. I spoke to the other teachers and they all felt the same. One said he was "worlds apart from what she'd seen before".

Ben Nash - PE co-ordinator, Richard Bonington Primary School.

"I have really loved this half term of Tag Rugby! I've never taught it before, so working with Annie had enhanced my expertise for when I teach it again. "

Anna Hughes - Y6 Teacher, Longmoor Primary School

"Being in partnership with Major Oak enables us to deliver higher quality PE lessons and after school clubs than we previously had the capability to do due to the outstanding quality of the coaches.

We have used our additional PE funding to give all staff CPD opportunities to work alongside Victoria and Harri, who deliver fantastic lessons to the children from FS1 to Y6 in our two halls and on the field. The children thoroughly enjoy the lessons and clubs be it gymnastics including rhythmic, football, tag rugby, track and field, and so on and more importantly their skills are improving. As is confirmed by recent successes in inter school competitions. The two of them also cover activities before and after school which are hugely popular and will hopefully set up a love of PE & sport that will last a lifetime.

The company is efficiently organised by Colin and we have a great dialogue that enables continual improvements to the provision around timetabling and so on."

GB Emsley - Principal, Lakeside Community Primary School

"As a head, time is always an issue. There are immense pressures to tick all the boxes, to keep up-to-date with latest initiatives, please Ofsted and run a successful school - all without dying of exhaustion.

Since using the company Major Oak, I feel I have been able to tick all these boxes in terms of sports, P.E and pupil activity. Our partnership has been productive and discursive, driven by the desire to bring the best opportunities to the pupils in my school. From selecting the sports my pupils will experience to organising after school clubs to creating opportunities for the most able to ensuring safe environments for special needs pupils to achieve.

Trained, experienced coaches nurture and expand all levels of abilities and my coaches have quickly and effectively established themselves with the staff and pupils alike. The continuity of personnel is also an asset, with coaches fully aware of individual need and the ethos of the school regarding behaviour and expectations. The coaches give weekly verbal feedback and each term there are written comments in a report for each class regarding achievement and progress.

I was delighted when the Director of the company approached me with a new idea - Delivering the Sainsburys School Games Kitemark in my school. Having a degree in sport science, I am keen for pupils to see and embrace the positive effects of sport. This kitemark has enabled my school to leap forward again. We have a pupil sports council, with regular effective weekly meetings, all organised by Major Oak. The pupils have relished their roles, bringing many other opportunities to school. We have over 75% of pupils regularly involved in competitive sport and are already ready to apply for our bronze award!

When time is such an issue and school staff are already stretched, I have been delighted to welcome Major Oak as part of our staff to help us achieve our goals in sports provision.
I have regular meetings and communications with the Director or senior staff to ensure provision is effective and evolving in my school.

I would thoroughly recommend their services."

Mrs Rachael Wilmot - Headteacher, Harrington Junior School

We have had Major Oak coaches at Chetwynd Primary Academy for a number of years to both support teachers deliver effective PE sessions and also coach PE lessons as part of our PPA cover. The coaches are all highly motivated and skilled at working with children from F2 to Year 6 and our children love the sessions, even those who were previously reluctant to join in physical activity.

Major Oak also run our early bird and after school clubs which are highly attended and enjoyed by children. All the staff at MO are professional, organised, friendly and have accommodated the needs of our school to ensure there is effective PE provision in school. I would highly recommend them to any school.
